In the morning a meeting will be conducted within IMA premises. Between 11am and 1pm a rally is being organized which will go towards divisional commissioner office. A memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister, through the Divisional Commissioner will be submitted.”
“Last year, we had postponed our Satyagraha scheduled on the same day last year, because of the favourable assurances received from the Government of India” said Dr S S Agarwal, National President, IMA, in a press-note.
According to IMA’s stand since the government does not have full control over MCI, it was planning to replace it with NMC Bill, which is undemocratic and against the poor.
Opposing the new medical commission, IMA will stage protest on November 16 at 11am. Across 500 IMA members and students will make a peaceful march from IMA office towards divisional commissioner office and a memorandum will be submitted.
Recently, during a high-level meeting, IMA decided that the proposed body would be opposed by all its chapters at various levels. The bill is likely to be tabled during the winter session of Parliament.
